In the shadow of the Eighty Years' War, Hendrik and Maurits grow up together. Years later, they no longer stand side by side in the forest, but at the heart of the struggle for a free Netherlands. While Maurits grows into a brilliant military leader, Hendrik discovers that his knowledge and insights can be as powerful as the sword.
With gripping battles, cunning sieges, and an unbreakable bond between two friends, The Eighty Years' War brings history to life. A novel full of suspense, humanity, and hope, it transports you to a time when the future of a country was at stake.
author:
Johan (born 1966) lives in Dordrecht and works as an accountant, which, aside from a pun, has little to do with writing. In his spare time, he writes many stories, and you can also read his match reports and columns on the website of the Dubbeldam football club. His interest in history is evident in his debut novel, "Burgeroorlog" (Civil War), with an "80-Year War" as its sequel.
ProBeeld (Ton de Koning) is responsible for the cover design.
