On April 21, 2023, the Flemish Jessie Descheemaecker and the Dutch Arie van Driel fell for each other's profile photo on social media. His dreamy and somewhat distant look, which was accompanied by a special poem, brought her back to the death of her husband and that made it quiet and restless inside. It didn't let her go so she decided to take initiative.
Arie, who is eighteen years older, was so impressed that he only dared to respond to her friend request after a week. After 51 days of chatting and video calling, the introduction took place in Bruges. That was the beginning of a love adventure in which both found themselves at a crucial crossroads under the watchful eye of a third character.

Arie (Rotterdam, 1954) is a journalist, writer and poet. He made his debut as an author in 1985 with the erotic story collection Bare Upper Arms. His first collection of poems, OPPA, was published in 2022. As a word artist, he is a member of the prestigious studio route De Kunsttoer.
Bounded Desire is his tenth book. In that respect he is mainly himself.
When words fail, Flemish kindergarten teacher Jessie (Bruges, 1972) searches for the balance between love, sadness and hope. After her husband's death, she expressed her emotions on canvas and in her diaries, the contents of which never fade. This turned out to be the key to a new future as a painter. With Limited Desire she makes her debut as a writer and once again steps outside her comfort zone.
