Troostvoer; the word speaks for itself.
A wise man once told me that an artist is only a maker if he can also be a gifted cook. I wholeheartedly agree with that. What could be better than eating a deliciously crazy salad after a sultry day or a steaming plate of chicory rolls and a dollop of good puree after a trip through the freezing cold?
This collection is not a collection of ultra-short stories: they are separate reflections that I made about my dadas. You will encounter sights, smells and colors; there you will find sounds, young people and a little lady in a red coat.
That figure is me who strung simple ingredients, i.e. words, together into sentences, peppered them, added spices and let them simmer into a dish of comfort food. I can do no more than serve you this festive gift. Tasty.
Marianne De Pelsmaeker:
Marianne (1958) saw Louis Paul Boon in the station in Erembodegem, where she spent her childhood. I'm going to write too, she thought. Nevertheless, education became her destiny, with which she had grown with passion and drive over the years. Not so much the French language, but rather colleagues and young people came first. And constantly learn yourself. Ultra-short texts have been appearing in her existence for some time now.
Her goal is to string together words, thoughtfully refine them and share them.
