Lyss's village was wiped out. He fled and eventually reached the land of Horm. The murders turn out to be the work of the Zîn. He kills a key leader and, in part 2, flees with Yossi, an escaped forced laborer, to Soden, where General Ichtoral (Yossi's father) discovers Lyss's military talent. The "Beardless Commander" drives away the Zîn and then travels with his beloved Miluna to Diriam to find answers to his questions about the downfall of the Lin Empire in the world-famous library, the Selidessa. New threats await him in Diriam.
Joost Thissen:
Joost (born 1956) was a fan of fantasy from an early age. During his studies in General Linguistics, he began writing Machten van Anir (Powers of Anir). This story takes place in a different world, which, however, is very similar to ours. Due to a busy schedule, further writing of this story had to wait for several decades. He recently completed this tale about cruel rulers and opponents who stand up for their freedom in a world where much is not what it seems.
