You've probably seen him, the kind of man who sits alone at the bar and everyone walks around with a bow. His talk is barely audible. If anything can be made of it, it's bleak lyrics or pub clichés. In between the booze he peeks at the girls as if he could grab them at any moment and most likely the bastard at home jerks off to the only woman who gives him attention; the barmaid.
This book takes you into the life of Martin Smits (nickname Tiny). Exactly such a man. Martin works in a warehouse, flags at the football club and at home he struggles with alcohol and porn addiction.
But why did he become like this? What happened to him to get him into this hopeless life? And, can he mend his life when hope returns?
You can read it in 'Door eenzaamheid verlaten'.
De heer R.:
De heer R. is a philosopher of everyday life. He is always looking for the secret behind the lie, the seriousness in the humor, and the pain in the laughter. "It must be told" is his motto. That sometimes reads hard, but that's how it is. In the disc world, Mr. R. is no longer a rookie, two children's books. But this novel debut is different, hence the pseudonym.
