The village of the now seventeen-year-old Lyss was exterminated. He fled and reached another tribe; later he moved on to the land of Horm to find those responsible for the murders.
Lyss kills a high-ranking leader and flees with his new friend, Yossi, an escaped forced laborer.
In part 2, these two travel to Yossi's native country, where his father Ichtoral is a general. He discovers Lyss's military talent: the beginning of a new adventure.
The beautiful dancer Miluna, hopelessly in love since they met, stays behind while Lyss goes to war.
Joost Thissen:
Joost (1956) was a fan of fantasy from an early age. During his studies (Dutch and General Linguistics) he started work on Powers of Anir, which is set in another world. Due to his busy work with his own organization, little came of writing for decades. He has now completed his trilogy about the struggle between cruel rulers and the oppressed in a world that is very similar to ours and in which much is not what it seems.
