Paulo; Het obscene leven van een gay escort; deel 1
In the humid Brussels of 2019, two men cross paths: the narrator, a Flemish writer fascinated by angels and extreme lust, and Paulo, a petite Portuguese man with large hands and an even larger libido. Paulo is a gay escort and a heavy anal penetrator, and dreams of putting his wild life into book form.
Their encounters begin on knees and elbows, but evolve into a glass of wine, conversations about near-death experiences, archives, art, forgiveness—and lots and lots of sex.
In this first episode of an unashamedly picaresque novel, Vander Laenen spares neither his alter ego nor the fiery Paulo. Between horror, ecstasy, and contemplation, something emerges that might well be love—or at the very least, a bond in the obscene. A book that asks not for approval, but for surrender.
