Geert Barbier - Martine Dosselaere:
Geert (1951) was born in Ostend. He left his origins for Mechelen, and later for distant places such as Hamburg, NY, Munich and Singapore. Wherever you are, there is that pull for your place. Hence the stories, which often simply spurt out of dreams.
Martine (1962) was born in Blankenberge. She now lives and works in Ostend. Martine paints, draws and makes graphic works that lean towards symbolism and surrealism. She uses text, signs and a cast of characters to tell her story. She plays with the imagination and symbolism. Honest and pure with a touch of eroticism and a dollop of humor.
